Bush still negatively changing rules affecting consumers
According to Keith Olbermann tonight, the Bush Administration continues to change agency rules that negatively affect consumers. The continuing changes, according to Olbermann, effectively take away people’s right to sue companies for malfeasance as well as reduce industry regulations that keep Americans safe. The report Olbermann refers to in his broadcast is listed on the Federal Register website.
The language in this report is long and confusing for anyone without a legal degree, but if Olbermann is correct, we, the American people, are likely to face in the coming years many hardships in redressing our right to safe products.
It seems President Bush, his Administration and the nascent Republican Party is intent upon rolling back consumer, employee and public protections to the pre-Teddy Roosevelt era.
