Small government McCain wants to grow government? Did I hear him right?

with 2 comments

Listening to McCain’s speech today regarding Wall St., I nearly fell off my chair.

He actually said he wants to grow government by adding yet another department: the Mortgage and Financial Institutions trust.

Isn’t he one of those Republican guys whose mantra has been that government is too big, that there are too many regulations, and the market only works if government gets of its back and allows it to do what it does best?

My gut feeling is we don’t need another department. We do need the departments we have to work properly, to fulfill their legal and moral functions. We need regulations that stimulate growth, are efficient and effective, and are up-to-date.

  1. McCain nor the Republican party is small government, they do not even try to pretend to be anymore. So not sure what good pointing any of this out is 😉 but at least you now realize it I guess.

The only small government parties left are 3rd parties.
